Family Portraits by Koos Ellis of Port Orchard, WA

A family portrait truly makes a house a home.

A beautiful outdoor scenic canvas portrait with the finish of a fine oil painting - what better way to commemorate your family and all it means to you? Close your eyes and imagine the emotions your portrait will evoke each time you gaze at it.

The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. -Thomas Jefferson

The first step in the process of creating your portrait is to meet for a free consultation and brainstorm the ideas that will make this portrait not only beautiful, but an authentic expression of you and your family, as well. My goal is to collect, organize, plan and orchestrate your ideas with sensitivity, skill and an artistic eye.

When we talk in person, we will begin the design process by looking at details such as the location that is meaningful and comfortable to your family, types of clothing, colors, color combinations, lighting choices, whether to include your pets, and how these and other details will interact to form the finished scene.

The family is one of God's masterpieces…and now your masterpiece can grace the walls of your home.

Your portrait will also be designed to be the ideal size and shape for the location you wish to display it. Color psychology will be utilized to help you plan clothing that will set the desired emotional tone in your portrait. Incorporating a color into your portrait design from the room décor where your your portrait will be displayed, as well, can tie them together and create a stronger impact.

Families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter. -- Brad Henry

Your portrait will set the tone and help create the atmosphere of the room it is hanging in. When friends and family come into your home, your portrait will say how important family is to you; that the loving relationships of family are what your home is all about.
